Collaboration. If there is a theme to this seminar it is collaboration. Come join your colleagues in criminal defense for two days of conversation, connecting and learning from some of the best and brightest in our field regarding a wide array of relevant, important and timely topics to help you improve your practice.
We are pleased that Attorney Denis M. deVlaming, with deVlaming & Rivellini, PA, Clearwater Florida, will be joining us this year. Mr. deVlaming has spoken nationally on the principles and requirements of Brady v. Maryland. He will discuss the means and methods which the defense community can use to require the prosecution to turn over all Brady material that in any way tends to exonerate the accused, might impeach any prosecution witness or could lessen punishment, is exculpatory in any way or will support a valid defense. In addition, Mr. deVlaming will provide a fascinating presentation on jury nullification.
Our other presenters, some of the finest criminal defense lawyers currently practicing in Wisconsin, will discuss winning motions, winning trial strategies, and successful sentencing arguments which will allow you to achieve the best outcomes for your clients. Furthermore, we will discuss some of the highest profile criminal cases in Wisconsin in the last year, and provide concrete ways to apply them to your current cases.
We are honored to have Justice Louis Butler, WACDL's first Honorary Member, as our luncheon speaker on Friday.
Results matter. Period. The key to your next victory can be found at this seminar.
Whether you are in private practice or are a public defender, this affordable seminar will provide you with knowledge and insight into a variety of new tools and strategies for your criminal defense work.
Tuition includes lunch both days and a reception and dinner Thursday night. Join us in the Dells to meet your colleagues in the criminal defense bar for some great learning and camaraderie.
Because of the generosity of our sponsors, we are able to offer two tuition scholarships to this seminar, one for a state public defender and one for a criminal defense lawyer in private practice. To apply, send a letter to WACDL at PO Box 6706, Monona, WI 53716 or an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Make the case why you should get a scholarship.
We thank our sponsors for their support: Wisconsin Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company (WILMIC), Thompson Reuters, CourtTracker™ and Lifesafer Ignition Interlocks
