Annual Ethics Seminar - December 10th
The Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers is pleased to once again present its Annual Ethics Seminar designed especially for criminal defense lawyers. This is a great opportunity to earn 3 required ethics credits in the company of colleagues in the defense bar. Much of the value of these programs comes from others who practice criminal defense being in the room with you, asking questions and offering insights into difficult ethical issues. The networking, collegiality and story-sharing are often the most worthwhile part of every WACDL seminar.
Program Chairs Corey Mehlos and Jeremiah Meyer-O’Day have put together an outstanding line-up of speakers – a full agenda can be accessed here. Breakfast will be set at 8:30 a.m. and speakers will start at 9:00 a.m. The program will end at noon.
For the first time our co-chairs will also be hosting FRIDAY NIGHT festivities in downtown Madison, so please plan to arrive Friday evening if your calendars allow to clink a few glasses with your defense bar colleagues. The best tellings of our trial war stories happen after dark.
The first five registrants for the conference will receive a free overnight stay at the Park Hotel for Friday night, December 9th.
Traditionally, WACDL announces the recipient of the David Niblack Award at this seminar. The purposes of this award is to recognize the contributions of an attorney to the effective defense of the indigent, either cumulative career contributions or outstanding accomplishments and to honor and preserve the memory of an outstanding attorney who devoted his life and considerable talents to the defense of those who needed it but could not pay for it. Please join us to honor this year’s recipient in person.
