About Practice:
Attorney Eric Maciolek graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Eric’s strong interest in science naturally steered him in the direction of forensic science in the courtroom. Attorney Maciolek was accepted to law school in 2004 and attended DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. Eric made on the Dean’s list throughout a majority of his law school career consistently raking near the top of his class. In law school he focused on criminal trial lawyer skills. He was one of the top ranked students in a year-long competitive trial advocacy program. Eric excelled in advanced criminal law classes and litigated real cases even as a law student attorney in one of Chicago’s inner city felony courtrooms.
Attorney Maciolek has never shied away from even the most serious of cases. Eric was an active member of DePaul’s Death Penalty Clinic which litigated real death penalty cases in Cook County, Illinois. As part of that clinic, Attorney Maciolek interviewed incarcerated clients, drafted defense motions, and prepared death penalty cases for trial. It was this experience in the most serious of all criminal cases that Attorney Maciolek solidified his passion for defending people in court.
Attorney Maciolek also interned with the Federal Defender Program in Chicago where he researched any and all aspects of federal criminal cases. Even as a law student, he tried a case in federal court where his client was facing life in prison.
Upon graduation Attorney Maciolek returned to Green Bay Wisconsin, took and passed Wisconsin’s Bar Examination. In his time in Wisconsin, Attorney Maciolek has handled over 2000 criminal cases in multiple counties throughout Wisconsin. At age 29 Attorney Maciolek was elected as a board member of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense attorneys. This organization gathers the best and brightest lawyers in Wisconsin and helps them be the best attorneys they can be.
Attorney Maciolek has handled every type of criminal case under Wisconsin law – from simple misdemeanors to sexual assaults, from traffic cases to homicides. He has successfully suppressed evidence in felony, misdemeanor, and OWI cases. He has received not-guilty verdicts in multiple cases even in cases that seemed unwinnable. He has a client-centered aggressive approach to litigation. Every client is important to him. Eric’s reputation as a tough litigator follows him wherever he goes in whatever case he is defending.
